The difference between the 111S and the 11R?

The R variant, has the Toyota vvt engine as opposed to the Rover K series , that is installed in the 111S.

There was a thread not so long ago comparing the Elise and VX (although there were some rubbish comments in there, there were also some very good objective ones too).

Do a search it may help a bit! (in both Elise forum and VX forum)

Just FYI - The VXT (which from your profile you have on order?) had a superb engine, loads of torque throughout the range but the car does not handle to the extremes of the 111R -this may not be an issue for everyday driving but will loose you the edge for track days. The 111R has a low level of torque and delivers all of its power +6.2K RPM which you'll either love or hate. The VX also weighs a little more than the Elise as well... Oh, and it's a Vauxhall which <b>also</b> may or may not be an issue
