Not long had my S1 Elise and quite new to the site.

What is the best Induction kit for a S1 Elise?

I havent seen any reviews on the K&N 57i, anyone got one? I would appreciate some feed back.

Ive got a Christopher Neil Sports exhaust and want a good sounding induction kit to compliment it.

K&N - Cheap and sounds great

Hurricane - best all round system for sensible money

ITG - Best system but expensive.

K&N will take hot air from the engine bay so you may lose power. Hurricane and ITG have ducting and the filter is enclosed so the air is cold.

As for sound, Hurricance sounds great on mine, especially at 4K revs. Can't comment on the others but I think the carbon fibre enclosures on the ITG and CF version of the Hurricane quieten the sound very slightly.

As for prices: K&N £50ish, Hurricane £175, ITG £350

Hi guys,

Check out ebay number 8009096939

This induction kit is better than the hurricane kit and nearly half the price. Sounds fantastic and give great results. A must any K series.

other than noise then theres about 1-2bhp difference between the lot of them....I had an ITG and it was nice...in hindsight Id get a Hurricane or one of the kits on ebay

as long as its got a cone filter, either cotton or foam, its inside a box (not open) and has 2 bits of pipe and a bracket, it will give you 3-4bhp....oh and the main reason for getting one - it will sound awesome

I saw an S1 Elise (blue) in Birmingham earlier this week (or was it last?) that had the intake scoop actually extended out to form a sort of ram-pod. Not seen this before, and it didn't look too bad - looked at it for about 15 seconds before I worked out what 'didn't quite look right' - wonder if this is part of a certian induction kit, and if so, which one?

The Hurricane filter is basically identical to mine except it has a 70mm hole (where the air comes in) where as mine has a 100mm hole. The side air duct on the bodywork is 100mm. The reason that it is better is becase it doesnt reduce the hole size which means less air flow disruption. The Hurricane kit is designed to fit many applications. Mine is made for the elise. It uses a K&N style cone which can be taken appart for cleaning. Like I said the 2 kits are very similar, but at nearly half the cost, its great value for money.

As for a PH discount. I could'nt do it on one filter. If there was say a bulk buy, like a lot of people did with the Larini exhausts, then that would be possible. Start a new post and see how many people you can get who want one. RRP is £99.95 + £6.50 postage. Depending on numbers would determin the level of discount.
