Induction issues.

In theory yes you are right. But in reality the water doesnt ever reach the filter. You would need a jet of water pointing up the air inlet hole to actually make contact with the filter. As for drainage. The air inltet duct on the bodywork is made of 2 pieces. There is slight gap in these parts to allow for drainage.
On the hurricane (as I have) there is a small drainage hole in the bottom of this "foot" to allow water to drain from there and also a small hole in the bottom of the filter cowl to allow water to drain from that cavity. While it's true that if you had a jet of water poking up there you could conceivably force the engine to hydraulic, it's NEVER going to happen.... no matter what induction setup you have, engines will always ingest a small amount of water, usually atomised by the airflow by the time it gets to the filter... this is harmless.... remember... humid air is water-laden
