Hi i was wondering if some one on here can help me out. Well the inevitable has hapened and ive booked me car in to squeeze a few more horses out of her. After trawling through the forums ive decided to get a ITG airbox and a decat(got a sports exhaust allready). Anyhows the garage ive booked it in at told me today that they can do the work Friday but they cant get a replacement sensor for the decat untill 2 weeks later. Now being an impatient mf i still went ahead and booked it in for friday(was originally booked in for wednesday but i changed me mind and ordered an itg rather than the k and n 1 they were offering thus the delay)Anyhows back to the point... will it be ok to drive without this sensor for a bit or is there a place that i can get 1 for Friday?? The mechanic told me that the ecu light will come on but he thinks it will be ok, but i wanna know for sure.

what they mean is they need a MIL light eliminator - about £15 from most places...its fine to run without one, but the MIL will come on - you will have to get it reset at a dealer etc after they fit the eliminator later.

Personally I wouldnt bother with a de-cat...you only gain a couple of bhp..unless of course you want the noise...had one on my car for a while, but it was too noisy for track use and you couldnt have a conversation whilst in the car. A sports cat is a better option...few more bhp, less noise (louder than std cat though) and MOT legal...bu more expensive of course

Cheers Bogie ill go on a mission and try and find one. Hmm is it really that loud without the cat?? I do wanna take it on a track at some point so you reckon it will fail the noise test. Bedfords prob the closet to me. I think ill try it just to get it outta of me system lol, can always change it back.
Btw dude are you the one who runs a type R engine in your beast?
