Had a bit of a treat this morning. Saw and ardent red 111r (as per usual), but then 10 minutes later i saw a green elsie with yellow stripes - im not a fan of green, but this looked ace.

I was considering a red or black elsie, but after this i may have changed my plan.
Is this a common combination, and are there any photos of one - i have done a search and nothing has come up im afraid.

Lotus release the S2 type 25 which was green with two yellow stripes. UK allocation was 50 standard cars and when that sold better than expected they did a further 50 111S variants. Rest of world ones weren't numbered.

Various people have put stripes on their own cars after market. Vinyl is a common choice as unlike paint it's easy to remove and cheaper to put on.

Photos of my old type 25 here http://community.webshots.com/album/5

P.S. The prototype type 25 had only a single yellow stripe and while more historically accurate imo it didn't work as well as the double stripes. I'm certain part of the reason they put the stripes on was because Pete Sutton had his 340r (a car of legend) painted green with a single yellow stripe and it was stunning.

Number 19 is on autotrader right now - looks stunning.
32k on the clock and 15k.

Did it come with the touring pack spec?

Thanks
Mark

Hi,

I bought the Elise 2.5 months ago in green and added the stripes myself. I used stickers and had it done by a friends company.

My rims are also stickered so I can just change colours when I want I go back to the original whenever I want. Also the wheels stay clean and are more protected.

I got pictures, but I am not sure how to post them

Think they were all a bit different. Mine didn't have driving lamps or pax footrest but many I've seen did.

At least one of us will beg to differ (Production special editions are so common!)

Ah ha! Good to hear it's still about. Last time I saw it Andy Shepherd had it as his company car and was trying to persuade Lotus to put it into production.
