running in 111r?

hi again guys

just a quick question

i have had my 111r for three weeks and now done 500 miles

the dealer said when i get to 500 i could rev it up to 6000 rpm which i did yesturday but i got a bit carried away !!!

i got top 6 and as i am sure you guys know the car suddenly got a lot faster so i took it to 7 a couple of times!

is this ok for the car or will i do some damage?

there were some strange smells coming out when i stopted!
(i have it book in on the 6th dec for its 1000 mile)

it will be fine...its good to give it the occasional run up a bit higher..just make sure the engine is warm and its not labouring in gear etc

I thought the owners manual said exactly that any way.
Gentle driving for the first 500, then the occasional blip up to higher revs after that. After the 1000 miles service, 1st Cam will be a long and distant memory, except for getting to 2nd Cam

just enjoy progressively, a few moment over 6200 are Ok.
Take just care in case of wet roads to do not hit the spot too soon in the bends, if you are not familiar with the toy engine

Mate no need to worry,my dealer never told me that i had to run my car in 4 the 1st 1000 miles,and as soon as i got on that motorway i just h it the throttle, no dammage done here and i have done 2300 miles since i have had the car enjoy,i must ad mit i am very wary of my new purchase,i will difinatly be caucious of doing high speeds in my exige cup 240 may be i will see you around
