Morning all.

I am trying to decide how worn out my clutch is. It will pull off in first no problem and go through the gears and it doesn’t matter how fast you go, it keeps grip. The clutch bites low down so there is minimal travel on the clutch pedal to engage it but I understand it is self adjusting, so this would happen anyway. The only time it seems to slip is if I pull off in second from still or just about rolling. Can any owners shed any light on this?? I imagine that being such a light car, it should be able to pull off in second. The engine has the power to but the clutch 'judders' the car.

If this is the sign of it getting really low, then I best start saving for the AP racing clutch and maybe the lightweight flywheel. Also does anyone have this clutch in theirs? Is it any heavier to use? Just thinking of when you are sitting in traffic, heavy clutches are a pain in the arse………

Cheers.

Put the car into 4th at 30/40 mph and put your foot to the floor if the revs rise and the speed doesnt the clutch is well on its way.

My clutch has started juddering a bit and the bite point is nearly at the top of the pedal travel so I need to change it soon.

I think the standard rover part is good for 150 odd bhp so thats what I'm going to stick with on mine.

But I'll also take a look at getting a lightened flywheel fitted at the same time not sure which one yet though.

Had my clutch changed with an AP.

Slave Cylinder was gone so to the seals in the gearbox, oil every where.

Result s/h box new slave and new clutch (94,500 miles)

Check the slave Cylinder first, could just be that.
