Advice please - has anyone else experienced this:

When reversing with full steering lock (e.g. when parking), it feels like the wheels are not turning smoothly, i.e. it jerks a little bit, feels like I'm driving over little stones.

I haven't tested fully, but i don't think this happens when going forwards.

Anyone got any ideas before I go and pester westovers again!

when full lock and backwards driving sometimes the tires hit something, like the inside wheelarce? not such a problem I think...when it only happens on full lock and backwards driving.

Just make sure you are not getting any lumpy feeling, when going forward.
If you are shout at Westovers quick. Happened to me and needed a new steering rack. One of the teeth on a cog had come off.

Could just be an Ackerman issue or maybe bolloxed bottom balljoints.

If your still around, mine does it in reverse aswell, but I have been told its normally because of a lack of front end weight, the larger rear tyres tend to 'pull' the front end around a bit.

Also heard of other people getting it on 2 or 3 different cars. I wouldn't worry too much, and its more likely when its slippery and damp, or on things like bricks.

Take care

i noticed only after reading this thread actually that mine does it only on extreme full lock and driving backwards. Nothing abnormal about the forwards (or indeed up-to-full-lock backwards) steerign movemenet.

Oh if it helps I have an MY04 S2 111S
