Does anyone know if the latest 111R front dip and full beam bulbs are the same as on a standard 2002 Sports Tourer? Sure I remember someone saying they had noticed a big difference when they drove their 111R on a dark winters evening and how superior they were to those on hisb previous S2???

Does anyone know what I am on about? Front drivers side has gone in last 24 hours as has one of rear sidelights on passenger side? Anyone know the parts codes? kit for now as in middle of house purchase!

Cheers in advance if anyone can help

The main beam is a H4 and driving light is H1 (I think!) 111R lights are cack, it is like driving with candles strapped to the front of the car. The main beam is very good but apart from that they are rubbish. I have changed the bulbs and tried 100 watt and 50 watt briliance bulbs. Not much difference. The problem is that to get the beam shape it is "blocked" with a piece of metal plate. Basically 50% of the power of the beam is wasted. The designer should be tied to the back of a car and taken for a couple of laps. It is the most stupid design I have seen in a very long time.

You guys need HID's - my dips are fantastic. I am now going to do the main beams as well. You get far more reflection off wet surfaces. Light output is more than 5 times standard according to light metering.

in the 1st instance Id get the beam alignment checked so that you are getting the best out of what you have

in the 2nd...Id discount spending £30 or even £80 on fancy bulbs....they make bugger all difference in the real world

finally if you are not happy after option 1 - get a HID kit from www.elise-shop.nl for £250 ish - thats the only way to go for a real improvement if you drive alot in winter .........

Yes.

Dip beam: H1
High beam: H7
Driving lights: H3

I must agree that the 111R lights are about as good as a hand held torch when the batteries are going flat Mine don't seem to even bother the cats eyes ...

Trust me - Bogie knows a thing or two about headlight - he has tried them all. Upgrading bulbs will give you maybe 25% more light for 50 quid or more - you will not be able to notice the difference. The HID kit totally transforms night driving in the car. The blue light illuminates even in the wet. it is a 500% light increase over standard. If I had known how good it was, I would have ordered the main beams as well and not just the dips.

I had a quick look at the HID`s yesterday on the elise web site, for the dips it worked out at £300.....thought they were aving a .Its a lot of dosh to expend when you don't intend to keep the car that long.

If you want both the main and the dips, do you need to buy the 2 sets? Or how does it work?
Otherwise which is teh most usefull?... Depends on the road I use... OK?

You will be driving on the dips most of the time. Brights are an issue if there is traffic around. BTW we paid 250 euro's - 170 quid on a group buy.
