I know its a bit off topic but does anyone have any idea how often the Cam Belt should be changed on a Fiesta Diesel - Looking at a 1996 with 83k on the clock and i dont know if it needs doing / should have been done already.

Now why on earth would you want to do that? Get it done by Fred in a shed - it'll be half the cost.

Ford diesels of that era are Peugeot engined so the change is at 90k

It's your call but main agent servicing on a 9 year old car is throwing cash away IMO. They're very simple to work on so ask around for a recommendation.

changing cambelt on diesels is not the easiest thing to do...

sorry but I agree with cuzza, its a 9 year old fiesta. A cambelt change, whilst beyond the abilities of most amateur mechanics, is bread and butter for those in the trade.
