Black S1 wheels - Where can I get them?
Discussion
Hi all,
Just popped over from the Ferrari/Maserati site....
My wife has a S1 Chrome Orange Elise on a V plate and I really wanted to get her some bona fide black wheels a la Exige or sport 190 or something like that.
I know that I can get the current wheels acid dipped from someone like spit and polish but wanted to see if I can get some real replacements..... in time for Christmas.
Anyone got any ideas?
Cheers,
Stu

The Eliseparts site indicated stock of the Sport 160 Style in black, anthracite and silver at a good price last time I looked, Sinclaires also had new stock recently. The Lotuscentre SouthWest also hold a good stock of new and refurbished wheels in pretty much any colour/finish you like on an exchange basis; My spice yelow car is looking good on a set of 340R wheels refurbed in black with a new set of Neovas. Sorry I haven't got the web address for any of the above but easily googleable.

Personally I'd get her the Sport 160 5 spoke Victories. Really, really nice wheel and look superb in black contrasting to the Chrome Orange.

The 340R wheels in black must look great. Any pics?

Finally got my digicam back, unfortunately the car is filthy since it is used every day and it has been either dark or raining or more usually both whenever I'm at home.
When time and weather permit I'll get the car washed and gleaming and update the photo.
As an aside, with the open spoke design the balance weights are fairly visible, do any other owners of black wheels disguise them in any way?

They are the same diameter as standard but about 1/2" wider, not a problem since I am now running Advan Neovas; look great and a vast improvement over the old P Zeros
.
No fouling issues, just need to send Steve B a cheque and get the S2 suspension and lower it a little; it's a 2000 S1 so running 160/160, looks sooo high compared to most other Elises in the local area.
