Basically, ramps are the cat's conkers. Changed my downpipe yesterday. Put the car on ramps for the first time and everything is accessible, without the risk of being crushed to death by a sump.

Noticed that my drive belt looked a tad cracked...easy to change? Note drive belt, not timing belt - that's covered up right? PANIC

oh - I've tried a ramp in the past and it meant, firstly, that I couldn't get the wheels of (which makes access to some things far far easier) but also that it was difficult to get the diffuser off. I can't recall why, just that it was difficult. I could be remembering wrongly though.

I go the axel-stand route but you are damned right - it is a pain in the bum to do it!

I can imagine if your ramps are wide, then getting the undertray off is an arse, if they are narrow enough then it just drops down and you can pull it straight out. Getting the wheels off is a very good point....!
