Brakes and jumpy start
Discussion
My new 111R (3 weeks old, 650 miles)
is spending the week in my garage
with weekend trips out
. This weekend it did not want to move. I had to use more throttle than you would expect and it suddenly jumped a few feet. Fealt like the breaks had maybe stuck and suddenly released.
How can I avoid this and could it cause any damage? Daily trips out would no doubt do it but aren't an option.
Thanks
Hi!
I had exactly the same probably on my 111S - see this thread below...
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=226850
The summary is it's not a problem, and many do it, but to try and restrict how much it happens, park in gear with handbrake off.
This has, as you can see frmo that thread, only started happening to me since the weather's turned and the air has become damper - which is where the moisture is coming from. Hope that all helps!
Best regards
Tony
