That is so out of order that they didn't even have the courtesy to telephone you.
Email is such a cop-out.
Shocking behaviour!

What a surprise, the new fangled fly-by-wire throttle is already coming up as a problem issue. Didn't see that coming

A month ago a dealership told me they would have a demonstrator available, properly run in, a week before christmas. No sign of the car needless to say, let alone run in and serviced. January - not likely knowing lotus.

sorry to hear about that. I hate that sort of thing. You expect more than an email when you're parting with £45k! I was seriously considering placing an order for a 240 Cup a few weeks ago, now I think I'll wait a while and see if any decent aftermarket superchargers turn up for the standard exige. Still, will be very interested to hear how you find the car when it does arrive. Good luck.

I was rather interested in the new headline performance figures of the 240 cup - not enough performance to justify the cost. Also, the hanling seems to have been affected by the weight. A friend of mine in his boggo standard S2 111s was all over a 240R at Bedford last weekend. Obviously driver has a lot to do with it. I did note on 5th gear that the 111r was well over a second faster round Anglesey than the 240R. Centre of gravity seems to be creeping up.

Still, I will wait till they arrive before making a decision. Things are looking more and more like a honda engine instead.

If you do this or by a 240, it is a second reason for me to cross the small river....

As discussed at the meet, how are we not surprised Norman also had reservations about these being fitted

But you already have the toyota engine - get the supercharger and job's a good'un! If I supercherge my k series, I might as well toss a grenade into the cylinders.

There are quite a few superchargers for the jap engines and also a few stroker kits for the type R engine to get well over 300bhp. There is in fact a Type R that is giving out 500bhp. Look at www.cplracing.co.uk.

Just look in the Japanese performance mag and take your pick.

Just checked and right you are! At last that makes sese then. Did worry me how 53 bhp and torque increase makes you slower.

Afternoon everyone

I feel I must add a comment, both Me & Mrs Boggy were watching this and I couldn't believe how badly Vicky (VBH) drove that car, with respect she's meant to be a racing driver and even that Joker Jason Pluto (Plato) questioned her (Along with the Great Tiff)

Why O Why did tiff not drive it ? give it to the Stig and he'll show us the numbers !

I love 5th gear for one reason, it's a Car show and that's about it. I love Top Gear for just about ever reason I can think of, If I had my way there'd be a Top Gear channel and it would be the only channel it the Cooke household well apart from some Cooking program's for Mrs Boggy Only messing.

This edition really made my blood boil

I would say though, that the 240r's I have seen on track (Bedford) are not that much quicker than standard cars. I watched video of a friend in a standard 111s all over a 240R. I know a lot is down to driver, but I honestly expected more even in a straight line. The N/A honda engined elises were significantly quicker on the straight than the 240r. I just expected a bit more.
