Generally 2005 sucked.

However it did have some high points.
I went to venice last Feb, I love that place it is just incredible and Feb was a good time to go because it was not so full of tourists.
I think the best part of 2005 has been the BoLOC's. I have made some great friends and done some great things in cars that up to a couple of years ago, I only dreamed of. Thanks guys.

At midnight on the 31st, I will not be raising a glass to 2005. It has scared me in more ways than I thought possible but with that fear, I suppose I have re-set my priorities for the better.

Who will join me in lifting a glass to 2006, forgive me if you have to toast 2005 alone.

Happy new year guys!

2005 pretty much sucked for me too really, seemed to spend the whole year busting my balls at work & home trying to make the plan for the future 'get out', I guess it will all be worth it in the end... 18mth to 2yrs time.. i hope it works out!

Some high points...
- Hawaii, surfing the notorious North Shore in January 05
- 1st Feb 05 taking delivery of my Liz
- Meeting the BOLOC's folks towrads the end of the summer who inspired me to find a way to hang onto the car... soooooo glad i did now!

Looking forward to 2006 being a lot more fun, I've got a whole summer of surfing, BBQ's on the beach, & burger runs to look forward to, plan to relax, spend more time with freinds, family and the ever patient girlfriend who was close to disowning me this year!

Hope 2006 is cool for everyone else too

well, it's been a mixed year. Broke up with my ex gf in April.
Lots of other things has made it quite a tuff year on the personal side of things.
But then in December I got a new gf And it's been ever since
So all in all it wasn't that bad .But if it hadn't been for the last couple of weeks it would've sucked.
But the future looks more promising than ever, really looking forward to 06 now

Happy new years

2005 has been by all accounts, distinctly average.

Pride & joy wrecked by some er in a shite Ford, still yet to see the final cheque for all the inconvenience but I guess that could sweeten the taste of spring if all goes well. Whilst El Beast has been a revalation in power, speed and a quantum leap in sportscar driving for me I still hanker for something else. Poor little fella sitting out in the cold and Daddy's trying to pimp him off to the highest bidder.

Met a lovely young lady who, despite a few ups and downs, is still around (odd for me as I tend to tire of them very easily).

Work was slow and sadly rather boring. I have been assured by higher authorities that, that will change in 2006. I do hope so.

I've been a lazy git and stopped doing Taekwon Do since the accident, which for some odd reason I just don't seem to be able to find the will to go back to. Fear of having to start from scratch again I think and probably because it takes up time that I'd rather spend doing other things right now... like relaxing and playing my new drums - yay!

Constants? Friends and family continue to be the backbone of my life - long may that remain so.

Hopes and aspirations for 2006...

- Do more interesting and challenging stuff at work, drive management to make sure that promises made materialise.
- Regain my fitness. Since the crash I've been a thoroughly lazy sod and put on weight. Xmas pictures made me embarassed.
- Sell El Beast 2 and welcome El Beast 3 into the world
- Snowboard more
- Learn to play the drums really well, start a band and do at least one pub gig for fun
- Keep being nice to the lady and support her in getting her career back on track
- Get my extension done so I stop whining about my flipping house.

Christ, that's a big enough list for now. Lets come back in July and see how we got on!

As one last hurrah, it's worthy of note that I also appear to have made some genuinely nice acquaintances on here and SELOC with complete strangers which has been really great.

I've managed to turn some of those acquaintances into friends (Kent Lotus) and almost managed to meet up with the BoLOCs in summer but sadly my hangover prevented it. Here's to fun in January at the Walshy day

Low points for me were
My Dad died at Christmas last year
His Funeral was on New Years Eve
(Not strictly 2005 but close enough to affect it)
My Mum fell and broke her hip in August - had to cancel all planned trips..
My Mum went back into hospital in October
Anniversary of my Dads death this Christmas and New Year.

High points for me :
Getting the Sagaris in May
Going to Le Mans in June
Getting my Elise in November.

Lessons learnt :
You only live once so enjoy it while you can.

2006 - Bring it on.............

For me 2005 was a bit crap, but to quote GOOBY "I think the best part of 2005 has been the BoLOC's". Yep I agree, I hope to make the most of 2006 and enjoy the Elise.

Bit of a mixed year really,

Picking my S2 Elise up in Jan 05 was a real high point for me because I've always wanted one and it was a bit of a personal goal in achieving it.
Destroying it 4 weeks later was a very low point. Elise + Snow + ice = My car sideways down a ditch.

Picking up yet another S2 Elise in March ....And Guess what?
Having it destroyed yet again in September, by a total N0b head who shouldn't have even been on the road! No License No Insurance and a car not worth my policy excess!

I would just like to point out that I've never had so much as a scrape before this year out of 8 years of driving.

After having two Elise's written off in one year I decided that I didn't want to make it a hat trick of crashes, especially as each accident got progressively worse. So I bought a fully loaded 3.0 Z4 which I'm very happy with.

On a personal note me and the good lady have made it 7 years together and we enjoyed our first year in our new house. We also bought two cats, which was the best £50 I've ever spent.

I'm with Sworks, since my last accident I've not really been down the gym much due to neck and back pains, and I've put a few too many pounds on for my liking!

Things for next year in no real order:
1)Keep working on my relationship with EM
2)Go out on my mountain bike more
3)Do more weekends away
4)Work less hours (this year I've worked some crazy hours with various big projects)
5)Travel more and instead of spending two weeks on a beach visit and experience different cultures.
6)Buy another house to rent out (any advice welcome!)
7)Try and keep my car on the road

Low points over 2005 till now
--My Dad died suddenly on 03 jan 2005...
--The police got me speeding doing 255km/h
--Very high fine and 3 months no driving! aaaaah
--Some people acting like friends but where realy disapointing...
--Still not sold my lovely beemer(I want a Lotus or other fast leightweight)
--My healt(energie) going very slowly down over the years...

High points till now
--?Got the highest recorded speed on that short straight(255)
--Not driving my beast saves a lot petrol...
--Still positive thinking...
--Drove all the way too Hinckley for the Ultima open day(1800km that day)
for me the longest drive I ever had and the fast shuttle under channel, cool.
--Almost the end of this 2005 year! for manny people not a good year with all
natural catastrophe's...so hope 2006 will be a lot better for all of us.

So I hope for the one's who needed...2006 will be a better year to come
2006...may all happy wishes come through

My year wasn't too bad in comparison

Spent the first 3 months (and last 3 months of 04) living and travelling through Aus and NZ.
Came back to find my shiney (repaired) 135R parked on my drive.
Set about catching up with mates.
Went to several Lotus events
Found a spot of form with the ladies
Drunk many beers

.... and I hope 06 is much the same

Also felt it was a mixed year.

Lows:
1) Best friend diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour in october (On the day he was to collect his new honda s2000 (elises a bit overpriced in South Africa)
2)Government health targets - made my job extremely stressful (I am an A&E consultant and spent the year getting flogged by management)
3) Daughter who won't sleep
4) Repeatedly replacing tyres on my wife's Renault - every time the yobs slash them. £500 a time
5) Discovering my neighbour is faster round Bedford in my car than I am!

Highs
1) Daughter when she is awake.
2) Meeting the BOLOCS lads (cheers Gooby / Just1 and Phil for my first outing) You showed me how to have fun again
3) Discovering trackdays thanks to Hans Baumhardt - big cheers for the patience and instruction
4) Realising that snowsports rule - that getting down a mountain is even more fun than getting up it!
5) Ragging my friend in South Africa's s2000 to within an inch of its life with him grinning from ear to ear in the passenger seat 2 days after his diagnosis. Seeing his courage in the face of adversity and stubbornly not allowing it to get in the way of enjoying life.
6) Meeting plenty of good people

2006 - to friends here and abroad. I hope we all meet soon. Sworks - Jan 27th! Bolocs - 1st meet of 2006 soon I hope.

To fun
To getting Gooby on the track - and seeing him and Mrs Gooby have a better 2006
To becoming a driving god - well demi-god - well err trying to ..... Or was that driving dog then? Oh well enjoying the car anyway.

2005 for Mr and Mrs Boggy...

Highs
We tied the knot in June and officially became the 'MR and MRS' - wedding was fantastic and our red Liz had her picture taken!

We bought our new yellow Elise 111R (Lilly!) and got her specked up... and she is snug with this weather in our new garage!

We've made some great friends on here and also with SELOC - this one goes out to you SWorks !

We moved house in December (2 weeks ago!) and now Mr Boggy is a Kent/Essex Boy!!

Lows
2005 has seen bad things happen, including a close friend's wife passing away in January and then his father dying suddenly.... the whole country has seen awful things happen aswell...

2006 is a new year and we're going to live it to the full!

2005, was pretty good overall. Started with Gooby, Just1 & Twinpipe and has mushroomed into BoLOCs.
Work was Cr4p, but then when isnt it, but it pays for the Car.
Family and friends kept me sane, especially my kids.

2006, First kind of off road driving endeavor scheduled for end January, with the BoLOCs Airfield day. Lookinf forward to that.
Work is already looking bad from an employment perspective, will have to wait and see what happens there. Worst case is the Car would have to go.
Similar thread to someone elses is to see more of the world, rather than sitting on a beach. I enjoy the USA, but Florida aint all of it, so hopefully will do some touring over there in May/June.
Other than all of that, just hoping for a stress free year.
