You'd look like a complete tool if you had that on your Elise.

Good grammar, spelling and punctuation rings my bell for starters. If I had a Lotus E1tse then I guess that would be worth every penny of £1,349 - fortunately I don't.

I thought it was quite good. Not sure whether the T they are displaying is legal though. You can put in a best offer against the plate... might do that if I return the shoes I bought Fiona for Christmas.

dont get downbeat mate. I think you're looking at the Lotus thing from a different angle to most. When I had my TVRs there were a lot of polishers and Sunday cruisers who might frown at some silly driving or hard use. Refreshingly in the world the of the Elise and Exige it seems the majority use their cars properly with heavy use and a lot that do trackdays on a regular basis. You'll soon be labelled a GJOB for wanting to have personalised plates and go cruising in your lotus rather than spending money on performance parts

Personally I dont really get the idea of these plates. I know its a Lotus and I know its an Elise because of the 2 badges correctly spelling it either side of the number plate, but hey ho, each to their own.

It's not personal plates I object to, I'd rather like S16 OTF (incorrectly spaced) for mine, but like the post above, I don't see the point in putting L9 TUS, L671 TUS, E35 YSE, E1 TSE on a car which is clearly badged already.

IMvHO the best personal plates are the ones which are a bit subtle or good comedy value.

So I'm not the only one that thinks like that then...

I know I'm driving a Lotus Elise or Exige not even because of its badges, but because of the shape...

So, not a fan of personalized plates that say something that is meant to be obvious

forums are great places to express opinions ... everyone has one (some expressed quite strongly sometimes) but at the end of the day ... you make up your own mind and if you like personalised plates then it's your money ... good luck m8 ... the whole subject is subjective

As for me ... it's well naff unless I've bought it in which case it's definitely uber cooooool

A friend of mine in South Africa who is about 5 foot 6 and 17 stone and has pretty much given up trying to be slim and athletic, won a radio competition for the personalised number plate of his choice. He now drives around as : FAT MAN.

He is now able to use that as the final excuse to his wife as to why he is having a second helping and pudding.

I agree with sworks here - something personal or subtle is way cool. Phil - . Very subtle and would be appreciated by any lotus owner.

Happy new year all.

Don't get me wrong, I think that a cool one!
I was meaning all the "difficult" to understand ones that try to say Lotus when we know it's a Lotus.

Now, Hethel is a cool association

(besides, I'm guilty as well, I have to admit I too have a personalized plate )

I quite like some personal plates.

Some people spend money on squeezing a few more BHP out of their engines - others on ally tat for the interior - others on personal plates. Each to their own.

I don't think anyone with a plate like 7OTU5 or whatever is saying "hey look, my car is a Lotus in case you can't tell" I think they are saying, "I really love my car and I just fancied something a bit special for a numberplate"

I saw a mini a while ago with N1PPY - looked great and made me smile - just seemed to work.
