Post Horseshoe Pass meet
Discussion
Got up the following day for work and went to start up and zipp, nada , zilch, nothing. Lights / heaters and radio all on but no sign of the engine even trying to start. I did what my limited knowledge allowed, I checked the battery and took the front cover off and checked the ignition fuse but all was ok, i then tried to jump start it but still nothing so I presumed it was one of the infamous immobiliser problems. My problem was that I have RAC Roadside only so the car has to be 1/4 mile from home before they will attend. By some miracle(ahemm!) the car managed to move round to my local B&Q carpark and the nice man came and had a look at it. Much umming and arring later and with the RAC database for lotus ending in 1999, we finally found one of two fuses in the engine bay had blown. The car is under warranty but to transport it back would have cost me £80 + VAT to perform a 20p repair!
All's well that ends well.
