I dont push my luck in the wet. But I use the car all year round. No problems whatsoever with winter driving and it raises a huge grin at every oppertunity.

Go buy one and never look back

111R is fine in the winter. Roof doesn't leak, easy & quick to take off if the sun makes an appearance. I find it odd that some folks think that any Elise can be a handful in the winter. As long as you have experience of a mid-engine, RWD sports car and know your own limits, you couldn't find a better car to venture out onto the crap-laden roads. The car tells you so much about what is happening under the tyres whereas a general school-run, dead-weight would give you very little, if any warning of impending doom and then over-ride any attempt of human intervention with electronic 'assistance'.

Test drive a 111R now and bag yourself a great deal on a late, pre TC, 05 model

Got to agree, no problems with driving my 111R this winter. There's plenty of warning before things go out of shape. Really impressed by the level of grip in the wet - it's when the roads are greasy that you really notice the slides at low speeds but the same occurs in my 1.6 Scenic!

So... yeah, all year round no problem...
