Hello All,

Can anyone put me in the right direction in what to look for if the Mil light comes on.

The car is a S2 111S and is totally standard with NO decat pipe.

The engine is runing perfectly apart from the occasional stall at junctions.

I have checked the ecu temp sensor and its reading 200 ohms at 90C which spears to be ok.

I am a bit worried about driving the car to my Lotus dealer and would like to check a few things befor I do any damage.

Could it be the Lambda sensor, or Cat? Or what about the little device that connects to the drivers side exhaust tail pipe.

Any help is very very much apreciated.

Regards

Paul

If the Mil is on perminantly, then it means that the ECU has detected an issue that should be looked at, but should not cause any perminant damage. If the MIL starts flashing, then stop driving immediately and get assistance.

In your case, go to a dealer and get them to get an ECU reading, it should tell them what is wrong.

Probably the lamda sensor - the valve opening on the exhaust is mechanical and not linked to the ecu.

Could be anything - mine was eventually traced to a faulty ECU, thankfully it was under warranty. Whatever you do, push the dealer to sort it, they can often take a few attempts to fix the problem.
