Hi
Just got my lotus and i was thinking about joining an owners club - did a quick search and there seem to be several. Is there one that is better than the others, if so what are the benefits of joining?
Cheers
There is only one oficial Lotus Owners club. I get a nice mag and use of the forum (Useless), cheap insurance (very good) and a cool membership card / ice scraper. Value for money? Only just. I am not sure if I will bother next year.
The best club is the BoLOC's. Excelent value for money (free) superb outings, Great people....
BoLOCs and SELOC are completely seperate.
BoLOCs is for people who are in the area of Bournemouth, however we get people from as far afield as Southampton and Reading. Will only be of any use to you if you live close.
SELOC is realistically the whole of the south coast from Dorset Eastwards. Also as far north as people want to. The Forum is used by people country wide. Very much a formal club, with membership dues, commitee and meetings.

SELOC is free unless you want to be a paid up member.
There are some benefits to paid up, as can bee seen on the site, but mostly its social, both on the net and runs, meets etc. I have been a paid up member so as to take advantage of track days. However since some of the SELOC founder members formed LOT specifically for track days, I find less need to be a paid up member of SELOC. I still lurk on the site regularly. You will probably enjoy meeting whichever group of lotus enthusiasts you join.
I am a member of Club Lotus, which meets regularly, and organizes a wonderful track day at Castle Combe every year.
SELOC for the web content, tech info, social events.
BoLOC for the great local fun, social meets like Sunday morning breakfast runs, and Burger runs.
Lotus On Track for obvious reasons.
I would say join in all you have time for and enjoy the car. However if you even think about track time join LOT, but first get some driver training.
MARKIZOK you don't say wich part of the country you are in. If you are not near enough to Bournemouth to meet the BoLOC group, then SELOC has regional groups which will welcome you.
Phil.
