Can anyone out there give me the correct spec of the Bridgestone potenzas (probably spelt wrong) that I have on the rear wheels of my car?

The front tyres are fine, lots of life in them. But i really gave the back tyres a work out on the last track day i did at Castle Combe and they're a bit worn! Probably 500-1000 miles left in them legally if i'm lucky!

I only tend to do a track day once a year so don't wanna spend out on a full set of semi slick Yokohamas if i can help it. I'd also rather not mix my front Bridgestones with the new OE Yokohama road tyres they're selling Elise's on now if i can help it.

Are the tyre sizes different on the 111S? I think they may be slightly larger than the standard Elise. But possibly the same as the 111R? But the R has a different wheel fitment to the Rover engined cars i think.

Also, if you know of a reasonably priced local supplier that would be good too. I'm in Bracknell, Berkshire.

Hope the PH massive can help, D4VKC

The size is 225/45R17. Speed rating V or W. The Dot can be DCK or CFE. If you get CFE though you should run them at a lower pressure due to stiffer side walls. Mine are at 26psi instead of 27.5. As for somewhere to buy them someone mentioned a place called Bracknell Tyres.

As he said! The lotus specific DCK tyres are harder to find and more expensive. Bracknell tyres are the closest to you, but will sell CFE dot code tyres (made for the heavier VX220). Lotus acknowledge that these are OK at a slightly lower pressure. I run these - saved nearly £100 on the set and the fronts are the same CFE lotus code (CFE front DCK rear are the lotus codes) If you desperately want the DCK tyres, try event tyres who have a mobile fitting service. They are about the cheapest for the DCK rears.

Hi, I just trashed my S2 111S and have a nice new set of OZ rims with nearly new A048's on them sitting in the garage, if your suspension has been done and you are interested let me know. The wheels will not fit my Exige so i need to "liquidate" them

I am going to send him details but he was not really that interested in condition, so he may not want to spring for an immaculate set. he does still have first option one he gets the details.

Hi Guys, thanks for the information, much appreciated

Just did an internet search and:
www.blackcircles.com/public/order?view=standard £432.92 inc vat - Bridgestone Potenza RE040 Dot DCK (Lotus) tyres (Full set of 4)
Sizes are 175/55R16W front and 225/45R17W rear.

Pair of rears £271.90 inc vat - £9.40 delivery. Then need fitting
Pair of fronts £151.62 inc vat - £9.40 delivery. Then need fitting

Or I can use the mobile tyre fitter i know, who can do me a pair of rears in the correct spec / make / size and everything for my Elise for £190, fitted, including VAT.... Bargain!
He assures me they are the ones but even if there the tyres for the VX220 i'll be happy.

By comparison:

www.bell-colvill.co.uk/LotusShop/Details.asp?Id=AD07 £437.76 inc vat - Yokohama Advans AD07 LTS (Full set of 4) New O.E. fitment.

www.bell-colvill.co.uk/LotusShop/Details.asp?Id=A048 £617.93 in vat - Yokohama A048 (Full set of 4) Current track biased fitment.

I would not recommend 048's on the standard 5.5J front rim. People do it, but it is not ideal. Try eventtyres - mobile fitment, they will be the DCK rears.
