Guys

Just come back from the garrage and needed to use my horn - its the first time i have "peeped" it since collecting the car - what a joke!!!!

How can Lotus justify making such a great car but putting such a poxy horn on it - its just plain embarassing, can it be changed to sound more meaty, the typre of horn the car deserves????

I completly agree. I would love to put a ferrari style, italian wail of a horn in the car. Everytime I suggest it, I am overwhealmed by the silence.

I'm with you on this one - I find it too embarrasing to use. I was in a car park the other day and some kids were gawping at the car and persistently asking me to beep the horn - I told them I wouldn't do it because it sounded rubbish! How vain!
There are a couple of horns from demon tweeks but I don't know a) what they sound like, 2)if would fit c)where the horn is mounted on the exige and if it can be changed.
Probably end up voiding the warranty too.

The actual ferrari horns are a set of air horns and would be difficult to put in the 'liz. It would also cost in excess of £300.

According to the parts guy ar westover....

....dont thinkI will be doing that.

The horn on elise parts looks like a decent idea - mines due for an A class in a few 000'nd miles so ill get it fitted then.

Just one other point - this morning when turned the keys to the ignition the headlights were on and i cant seem to turn them off, any thoughts? Could it be related to the damp weather?

Just leave the roof off and shout at people. That, combined with a little signing should mean no mis-understanding your point. A blast of the horn can be misunderstood

I must say its an absolute disgrace. I am not putting up with it any longer. I didn't spend out all this money on a car to have to put up with this pathetic sounding horn that I have had to cringe when using twice in the last year (once was an accident as I was climbing out to be fair).

And whilst we are on the subject, have you seen how hard it is to get a wardrobe in the back of the car?

I've had enough. I'm selling mine.

Honestly, I don't care about the horn. I rarely use it either.

I Agree. My elise horn is rubbish. Iam going to make a small visit to the scrap yard when I have some time and purchase some jaguar horns !! Now they are so loud and meaty they actually sound like a fog horn off a ship, people will jump into hedges when that thing goes off! And they are small to boot...

I don't use mine. The button on the removable Momo makes it a bit hit and miss.
