I have currently got the 111s alloys on my car (see profile). Its an Ardent red one and the wheels are scuffed so they really need sorting - quite tempted to go for a colour change, maybe gun metal grey or black.

Any thoughts or photos would be welcomed!

Ta again guys

I have got the Black OZ alloys on my 111 but the car is black aswell so doesnt really help you out on colour schemes and what they will look like as yours is Red.

If you want a look anyway I can send you a pic. E-mail me at steve_brandon@hotmail.com

Be careful how you have it done.

A friend of mine had a set of S1 12-spoke Rimstocks powdercoated black and three of them have failed. On one of the wheels 9 of the spokes cracked when he was on track. Research after the event showed it's something to do with the temperature used in the process.

I dont know if i will be doing many track days - if i do ill be tempted to get some track wheels.

Really think they would look better darker, so much so i do contemplete not washing them when i do the rest of the car!

They look great - i think id prefer to maybe get them in a matt finish though. Either way it looks really good!

So if not powder coating, what is the best way to black wheels from silver?

Sorry, can someone explain what the difference is between paint & powder coating?

paint is wet and sprayed on like you do with a spray can. Paint shops usually use higher pressures.

Powder coating is different, as the powder is sprayed onto the metal surface that is electroconductive. The paint can be thicker (more resistent) and sticks much better. One problem with powder coating can be corrosion, that´s coming in between paint and metal.
