I am looking to install either a Road Angel or Road Angel Navigator in my 111R. I would also like to be able to switch the unit into my Subaru Forester which is used for trips away with my Family.

Could anyone advise on how neatly they can be installed? And how easy they are to move between vehicles?

Finally, I live in Milton Keynes so any advice on a professional installer in the area would be great.

Thanks.

RA comes with a magnet for the dash, or a suction bracket for the screen & two different power cables. Once you've decided the best combination you can obviously buy extras (if needed) for other vehicles.

I fitted long non curly cable into Liz, it goes quite well under seat, under sill cover, behind speaker grill amd light unit and then around top of dash to suction mount on lower edge of screen, right in line of sight. Fitted mag base and curly cable into ther car and it just becomes a plug n play bit of kit. BUT I would now go for the B2 (origin I think) as it shows the speed limit of the road you are on, where as the RA just shows your current speed, and I feel that a reference point would be so much better. IMOH.

Road angel is good, BUT, it can take a life time to pick up the satellite, or it can be instantaneous. The leads they supply don't last either if you move them around from car to car, I'm on my third set in eighteen months.

Road Angel is brilliant!

I have mine hard wired in the elise and use the curly power cord and windscreen sucker in my mazda.

the adhesive magnetic mounting plate (about the size of a 50p piece) sticks onto the plastic bit behind the fuzzy dashboard right in the middle. - it's the perfect place for the road angel.

i hard wired mine in myself and it took about 20 mins.

If you remove the radio and take off the left hand side bit of fascia witht the speaker etc in it ( you need to undo all the screws of the speaker to do this ) - I guess in the 111R (mine's a standard s2) the vent might be a problem.

then you can get the straight wire which comes with the road angel from the radio right through behind the bit of fascia to come up beween the dash and the screen at the far far left hand side of the windscreen. - the cable then sits beautifully out of sight in the wee gutter beween dash and screen all the way round to the middle where the road angel is. - this leaves LOADS of slack to make unplugging the unit really easy, and you've no holes to drill at all!

I piggy backed my road angel (adding a fuse if you're feeling safe) onto the power supply to the radio, cos this turns on and off with the ignition automatically. - I cut the 2 power wires and re-joined them with the extra wires in place.

I've found the road angel brilliant! (i'm in scotland) never had a problem with satelites (except in tunnels!!!)

it would be nice if it told you the speed limit of the road you're on, but with the gps camera detectors they're only as good as the database they use, and roadangel (blackspot) have the best database (so they say!) - mine's certainly never missed a camera yet!

don't be afraid to rip the dash apart - it was really quite easy to get back together again! - but you'll need a star tipped screwdriver! - trip to B&Q - good luck!!

Nah what you need is a B2, far better database and cheaper subscription. It will only tell you if a camera is a threat (wont bother you if it is facing the other way) wont bother you if you are going too slow for the camera to catch you and then it will display the speed limit as well as the actual speed you are traveling at.
It is portable, you can put a cradle in any vehicle and just take the unit to the other car. You can put in your own alerts.

Combine it with a radar detector and it is brilliant. It will tell you when a site is live and find roadside "temporary" cameras. But most importantly, it will only bother you if there is a valid threat.

Add the laser detector and garage door opener (diffuser) then the unit will protects you against scamera vans and kojacks with laser kodaks.
