Well finally guys i got a phone call from the dealer, that my car would be ready for collection on thursday of last week, well asyou can imagine my excitement,so i set off from preston at about 7.30,i get a phone call from the dealer, saying good morning mr kitchen, have you set off yet,by this time i was half way there, basically to cut a long story short,i didnt pick my new car up i finally get to the dealership at 12.30 very tired and very angry, the car was still not ready, some problem with the ecu unit? so i waited for 1 hr with still no joy,so the best they could offer me was a 111r which i have got already, and they said they would get the car to me on a trailer, which is suppost to b tomorrow,i can tell you i wasnt very happy,as you can all imagine, i finally got to see the car in the workshop just before i left,i must tell you it looked awsome, but still tha fact of the matter is i still dont have my car, this deal has been going on for more than 3 mths, and i think i am entitled to some compensation WHAT DO YOU THINK ANY SUGGESTIONS MK

Hi, I think this sounds highly unacceptable. What have been the reasons for the delays. My interest is that I ordered one last week in Black. Dealer was at the factory and saw the car prior to motorsport doing their bit, I have been told 2 to 3 weeks.
What colour did you go for?

Are they using "fly by wire" on any of their other cars at the moment, I thought the sport elise with the stripes that was released recently was using it.

You going to bin the idea of a Cup 240 or is it the dealer attitude that is causing you the concern?

Mark.

Have you tried Ribble Valley, Rishton??

A friend went and he said it was top service. The only other dealer I know near us is JCT600.

Hope to see it at CITP - Bolton Abbey this year.

All the best

Gavin.

Spoke to Murray's, he can lay his hands on 4 Cup 240's and has not had any word of "fly by wire" issues. He is going to give motorsport a ring to check out the background of your dealers story.

Thanks for the help, but i have just had the call from the dealer, the car is sorted,it will be with me tomorrow about 3.00pm,and the compensation i got i thought was prety good,a tour of the factory, and then a meal with the director from lotus, and in addition also my 9000 miles service paid for, parts and labour, all in all not a bad deal i would say

regards mk

Happy for you, in response to some other threads its more than you would get from some other "sports car " dealers. Remember and let me know what you think when you get it on the road.
All the best and happy motoring.
