Sorry if this has been covered before.

I'm planning to fit an Eliseparts Quick Shifter and Gear Linkage kit tomorrow.

Has anyone fitted these themselves and can you give me any advice or help?

Also..which setting works best - LHD/RHD bias or Central position? Thanks.

Just Follow the Instructions, takes about 45 mins to do. Not sure about the Central/LH/RH bit, I fitted as delivered and its fine.

I'm also going to do the gear linkage kit. Did you fit that too?

Yeah it's a little fiddly, and you want to make sure you give it plenty of grease. I left mine in the central position, that's basically the same position as the OEM stick, no real point in changing it. It's a little fiddly to get out and in, but follow the instructions, take your time and be patient and it's a sinch.

If you're doing the gear linkage as well (I'd recommend doing this as it's a FANTASTIC mod, especially in conjunction with the short shifter) then this takes a while longer, but again, just take your time and it'll go smoothly

I found it easier to take out all 4 bolts and then get the nylon 'cup' thing off the bottom of the stick. I think the instructions tell you to do it the other way round, which I found really difficult. Other than that, it's a great mod to do. I also left mine in the centre position.

Yep. gear linkage kit and quickshift go in tomorrow!

I spent ages searching for the eliseparts photo-instructions on the net (i'd seen them about a year ago, before i got my 'liz. - but you don't seem to be able to get them anywhere! - then I opened the packet and found a photocopy (admitedly black and white) of the instructions in there - complete with photos. - doh!

will let you know how it all goes!

Be strong fella, follow the pics and all will be well.

Bear in mind though that the linkage kit seems to take a while to bed in so be patient for the results.

Nice mod and money well spent IMHO. Cappuccino gear changes will ensue.

Gear linkage and quickshifter duely fitted. - all went fine!

only problem is now that the car really hates going into second gear! - especially downshifting from third!

the linkage isn't too tight and I've shortened the linkage loads, so it's now shorter than the one I took off, still doesn't like 2nd gear! -

anyone else had this prob??? - does is bed in and settle down?????

help!
