Afternoon all... Is anybody able to recommend an alternative seat to help with my mild paralysis every time I complete a motorway journey in my R? As you all know, nearly decided to sell but I REALLY no longer consider this as an option - I like the car too much even with the current status of 75% motorway use...

Cheers, Rob.

What about the Proback seats that are fitted as standard to the 06 model range? My other half test drove an 05 Elise 111R and tried out an 06 model before ordering one, and found the newer seats far more comfortable.

It did take me a while to get used to the seats, now it's ok and OCCASIONALLY i get the same 'mild paralysis' thing (no idea what specifies it!).

As Ed says, the probax seats are supposedly mega mega comfortable; I'm sure you won't be the first person to ring Lotus and ask if they can be retrofitted!

The new ones are very nice... and the answer will be yes. Get your wallet ready though.

My suggestion - do a couple of hundred miles in an S1 on the motorway. Then you'll realise quite how comfortable the 111R seats really are!

....Sorry, that probably wasnt any help at all, was it.

I've fitted one of the harness hole seats from a Exige and it is mega comfortable compared to my old S1 seat.

ANYTHING is comfortable compared with a standard S1 seat.

I'd like some 111R or S2 Exige seats for my S1 at the right price....

junks on SELOC is selling some rather nice carbon leather and alcantara ones for £650... dunno if you'd need new subframes but maybe worth asking. Am tempted by them myself.

They fit the standard subframes

If they'd have been bright orange I'd have kept them but they're too sedate for me

Thanks for the replies.

£££££ is what it's all about I guess... I've contacted the dealer about fitting the newer 111R seats...

Standard seats from an 05 Exige. Carbon leather and Alcantara with
Exige logo on the head rests. I'll take some photos, and post them when
I'm ready to sell.
If anyone is seriously interested let me know and I'll get
back in touch when I put them up for sale.

Hanger 111 can do 340R seats in custom trim - much more comfortable and a wide choice of trim colours / fabrics

Not an easy solution to the question, but I tested a Sport Racer on Saturday with the ProBax seats, and they are nice!

Definitely a marked difference and if I understand what the Dealer was saying right, they have a Gel fillng that moulds to you and stimulates blood flow / circulation

Oddly enough, I was aware of 'relaxed comfort' - of which neither word is usually associated with Elise!
