Hi

I have the above and its rubbish. The CD's dont play, it just comes up with an error message - i have read the manual and there is nothing that helps. Any ideas?

If not, can you suggest a decent new system?

ps - im happy just to listen to the exhaust but my good lady like her Robbie cd!

Radio reception in an Elise varies between poor and very pooor.

There is a plate that a chap on SELOC sells, shouldn't be much

I understand it makes for a better grounding. Could also try to wrap the cables in an ali tape, also check that they are secured ok. That all said if the CD player is dead then you probably need a new head unit anyway!

The radio is actually fine, but you may be right, a new head unit may be needed - do you know of any with an ipod link?

Blaupunkt do a purpose made thing that connects to the back of their head units that a few favour

There are lots of others though

I have the same problem with the stereo in my S2 ST. The radio is OK as a rule but the CD is dire, err3 and err6. These messages are caused by moisture getting into the head unit and on the surface of the disc - let your car get warm and it works fine for a few days.

Cheers for that!
I was getting very annoyed with it.
If thats the problem ill make do until summer as i guess other head units may suffer as badly!

Does anyone know of a decent head unit, which has a higher power output than the 50W standard of most units. Dont want the hassle of Amps, so just want the ability to slide in another head unit with a higher power rating

Ideas ??

IIRC Blaupunkts have a built-in bullsh*t detector - my CD collection works perfectly. HTH
