Insurance time for me.

Just went to Confused.com, cheapest quote was £587.
Have just tried Swiftcover.com and the quote is £406.

Has anyone had any dealings with them.
Opinions please. Need them fast as insurance is due in 5 days.

Thanks

I seem to post on this quite a lot

I'm with swiftcover.com for the elise as it was miles cheaper than everyone else. It's all online so you have to have a little bit of computer savvy about you (although if you're posting on this forum I suppose you have!). It's good to see an insurance service where you can up your excess and change other details and see the actual effect on your premium, without having to go through a whole new quotation. Also, you get to include / exclude the legal protection, courtesy car etc if you don't want and sign up to breakdown at the same time (although I didn't). Also, no daft demands for a tracker.

I had no problems although I didn't like their tone when they chased up my proof of NCB, they said if I didn't get it to them in x days they would increase premium and claim the rest off my credit card. I told them if they touched my credit card without permission, I'd sue them.

Never had to claim or deal with them so I can't tell you about customer service or generousity of payout.

Don't know if that helps you at all.....

Seems the £406 premium is the minimum, by the time I make it the same as the other quote as far as services offered, i.e. Legal cover, courtesy car and protected NCD, there is only £20 in it. And I know my current insurers are excellent in service and paying out, in a rwasonable time and decent amount.

Take a look at the website, it has an option about mods. TBH, I dont think I have ever seen an insurance website give a quote faster, one screen and you have a basic quote.
Mods, additional drivers, accidents, convictions and the other stuff is all added after the intitial quote.

Typical insurance, no rule of thumb.

Was crap for me straight off the bat and as soon as I started to try and include a modification it shat the bed and couldn't quote. I'll stick with specialists who know that an Elise isn't a hatchback and know the difference between an S1 and an Exige Cup Sport.

I'm with them cos price was right. Dealt with them on the phone a couple of times with queries and they were very pleasant. Did come after me for NCD info. but were O.K. about it and gave me time to chase up previous insurance.
Never had to claim though!
