In the spirit of spontaneous gatherings, there is a mini Cheddar run happening this Sunday morning.

5 Elises confirmed so far but as some have commitments the consensus is that we do an early morning run.

The suggested format is to meet at 8am on Sunday morning at the war memorial in Congresbury (BS49 5JA - opposite the Ship and Castle pub - 20yds from the A370) and then go for a run to take in Cheddar and a few other roads for an hour or so.

We aim to finish back at the Plough in Congresbury for a big greasy fry-up and mug of tea by 10ish.

This is not an organised run by any means - bring your own map and there is no organiser to blame for things going Pete Tong.

Anybody up for it?

It is weather dependent so have a look here on Saturday night for the go/no-go.

As the Plough no longer does Sunday breakfasts the end venue has changed to The Burrington Inn at the bottom of Burrington Combe (here - next to the garden centre). Expect to be there at 10ish when they open.

See you on Sunday at the war memorial in Congresbury for an 8am start.

Can I join in. I live in Chew Magna, it would be a nice little run for me.
Problem is I don't have a lotus, promise not to slow you up, just be great to meet other people this side of Bristol.

Would it be alright if I come along too? Again, not in a lotus, but I'll do my best not to hold you up.

Is that in memory of breasts?

No disrespect intended and in answer to your question, yes it is.

Sam - is that the bike engined Sylva that you will be in - I have designs on on of those. Come along - but Congresburuy is quite a hike out of Bath to get there for 8am!!

Anyone mind if us Southwest forum types completely invade your run? We had sort of arranged a mendip run but it seems to have petered out on the 12th a bit so there's about 4 or 5 of us (2 already posted) who'd like to tag along if poss.

Any objections?

I'm afraid it's just a piddly crossflow, but it is the phoenix. Still, I think a bike engine would kill me, so it's probably a good thing it's not. I reckon it'd take less than an hour from Bath. It'll get me up in the morning anyway!

All interesting metal welcome (and fibreglass for that matter). The emphasis on interesting!!

Remember this is not an organised run by any means. I wouldn't want anyone to come along and expect anything different.

All we have planned is the start point, the end point and the fact that we will probably be going up Cheddar gorge at some point. There is no organiser - me included - I'm just a bloke with a few mates that own Elises going for a Sunday drive after all.

It will be what you make it.

That's fine. As usual we're being as disorganised as possible (ours aren't proper organised meets either), there's now talk of a wales route so nobody's really sure what's going on. Will let you guys know if we're in/out.

p.s. you're welcome to join us on a possible mendip blat on the 19th if you want.

Unfortunately looks like I might not be able to make it now. Still hoping I can, but it's looking unlikely. Just thought I'd mention, in case you wondered where I was.

Hopefully next time though!

Indeed.

Weather looks a bit iffy as well. I guess its a case of look out the window and if you like what you see get driving.

Im a glutton for a greasy fry up, so I will probably go for a blat and some food anyway - unless its really lashing down.

Did as was suggested, looked out the window, rainy, wet, windy.
Noble + Pirrelli corsas + standing water = tears.
Would love to catch up soon. PHers south west have an organised mendip blat this sunday.
Maybe see you then.

Did anyone go ??

Was in the area in a White Honda Integra, did a couple of early runs up and down the gorge but didn't see anyone around.

Oh yes

7 Elises braved the wet/fog/sheep - we were running up and down between 8.45 and 9.30 - nice and traffic free at that time. A bit wet and twitchy mind.

There is a thread running here with pics.
