Right, the car is starting to bug me, it just seems to be one thing after another. In the past week or so my car CD player has broken and trapped my new CD in it, the neighbours cat has had a chunk out of it (again), the lights wont turn off, the battery died, alarm keeps going off etc etc (You get the picture).

Anyway, went for a decent run this PM to charge up the dead battery. All was well until i got to Woburn - at every traffic light the car cut out, it just died on me. Basicly the revs werent staying high enough to keep it ticking over. It was rather tricky not to keep stalling, lots of reving and handbreak action. I must have looked a real tt, and to make it worse my girl'f just thought i was showing off!

Please tell me that this isnt a big problem????

Cheers as always!

Thats my moan over. Still very much into the Lotus thing, all is forgotten when i drop it into 3rd and hear the raw...

I don't know the answer but do a search of the archives, try searching for cutting out.
There was one about that which turned out to be a throttle sensor.
You could also search the SELOC site for the problem.
Phil.

If the battery keeps going flat get a new, high power one. Less than £50 fitted and worth it for sure. Additionally check ALL the relays, if water gets in them and the contacts knacker this can be a symptom.

My first S1 did this and initially I thought it was the battery, in fact it was a knackered relay which was replaced for about £35 quid (after £200's worth of labour to find the route of the problem from Kent's now defunct useless Main Stealer in Canterbury).
