no idea, havent driven it for a month but as soon as i jumped in i could feel pedal biting right at the top of the travel.
The dealer tried to bullsh1t me and say that 15,000 miles is good for a clutch.. i was a mechanic for 9 years and i know that this is rubbish, then he said its because the engine is high revving. another load of cr@p.
Bit annoyed with them at the momment as its had some warranty body work outstanding for well over 8 months now and they have asked for more photos now. they lost the originals!!
Have tried a search on here for clutch prices but not really found much. They told me the kit is £251 + vat then they didnt know how much labour. leave it for the day they said. £70/hour.. no chance!!

Hi Topcat

They are having a laugh aren't they ? 15000 Miles and a new clutch already, surely that should be covered under warranty ?

yeah i know but being a wear and tear item it probably wont be covered. doesnt seem like anything else has caused it. will try my best to get them to pay towards it at least.

Deffo fight that under warranty - 15k for a clutch is total BS. If the dealer gives you shit, get on the horn to Lotus direct.

had a similar issue with a 111R, it had 9k on the clock, all done by me. And honestly no mis use, I got 150,000 mls out of another clutch, so I know how to operate one. Dearler called in the visiting engineer who agreed the clutch was on its way out but could not explain it. The only option was to wait until it failed and then remove the item and inspect it. If there was blueing or signs of overheating it would be put down to misuse(I would have to pay), if no signs then it 'could be' premature failure(possible warranty claim). Not a perfect solution to the problem!!! Never did get an answer though, as I wrote it off a couple of months later doing a traffic light grand prix LOL.....

no realy it was something else completely honest.

It might be that they are a bit fragile, I did notice a few strange smells at the BOLOCs training day recently, although this was a totally different operating enviroment to normal road use, and it was not my car making the smell.(but it was an exige)
