Selling an Elise

as suggested;
PH, Autotrader, SELOC, and ask the dealer if you wish. To be honest I don't think there's any need to try anywhere else.
Do watch out for "Cardata" though - you'll be getting 10 calls a night from them.
Yep, I second that. I got five calls in one minute once. I started off polite, and the only thing that stopped the sod calling was when I threatened to call the Police. I still get called by them everyday, even though I tell them I've already traded my car in. They had the cheek to guess what my next car would be (an Audi A4
) and send me details of "cars near me". One was in Scotland, one in Wales and the other in Devon. I live in Hampshire. I therefore figured that they only had 3 Audi A4s in the whole of the UK! Autotrader are considering legal action apparently.sja said:
Cant be bothered with all that.. So no Autotrader then!
Cardata and other similar companies do get your number from Autotrader, but I don't know if they use other sources as well? You may find you get calls regardless...
It depends who calls you as to how annoying Cardata and the like become. The constant calling and me threatening to report them to the police was a one off with a particularly unpleasant Cardata employee. I now simply get one or two calls a day and I just say "Sorry, I'm not interested" and they hang up straight away without calling back.

The car data / autotrader thing is a pain. I'd be really glad to hear if Autotrader ARE doing something about it.
Literally you can tell when it's cardata and I just put the phone down. Don't let it annoy you - it certainly doesn't annoy them.
Yes, if you look in Autotrader magazine there is a full page advert warning Autotrader readers about Cardata. They are quite pointed with what they say, which is interesting. IIRC it states "these companies tend to not provide the service that they promise" - not can, but tend! I chatted to someone at Autotrader about it last week and apparently Autotrader are seeking legal advice. Anyone that advertises in Autotrader gets bombarded with calls, and that's not really fair on Autotrader or their customers. It's particularly unfair on my parents, who are at home all day and take most of the calls. They didn't asked to be bothered all day just because I happen to be living with them and selling my car!
Thankfully I won't be selling a car for some time now
I pick it up tomorrow!
I thought there was a Database that you could sign up to that then registered you as someone who did not want to receive Telephone Sales. I signed up to it years ago and do not get any calls what so ever, as I beleive the DB has legal standing.
Sorry can not remember the name of the DB, it it accesable via the Net so a Gogle search may help
