I've booked my Exige in to have the cardboard gear stick replaced before it kills me and a courtesy car "Could be difficult due to the short amount of time the job takes". It's 2 hours according to the recall letter- I can be back home in 20 mins from the dealer but they "Prefer you to wait Sir".

My god, you have to laugh really. It's a good job I love the car but very frustrating- I don't expect a like for like car, anything to get me back home so I can do something other than wait. There's not even a showroom as that's separate!

Try and get it changed the same time you need a service or tyres?

The dealer is Peter Smith in Derbyshire.

Twinpipe- I wish to god it was my car but there's another thread where someone was after the pics- I don't know how to post them so updated my profile with it! It does look superb though. Apparently it's at a German Dealer called Red Motorsport, but I've not been able to find it since with a google search.

Parts have been ordered for my "recall" and the courtesy car promised.

Great dealer!

Hubba Hubba at that Gulf Exige.

No particularly interesting comments re the courtesy car. I use Fibreglass services and would rather have the lower hourly rate and use my everyday hack. Not so easy if you dont have an everyday hack though. I guess the answer is to only use places that can offer a courtesy car.
