Ive just got loads of stone chips on the front of my quartz S2.

Does anyone have any tips for sorting them out i.e. Lotus touch up paint?

Any advice would be good.

Thanks

Yes dont bother. Stonechips are a fact of life on Elises so just think of them as battlescars.

I have armourfend on mine which has been excellent but there is no point putting on anything other than a perfect clam.

If they really bother you wait until your car looks like its been peppered with buckshot then get it resprayed and armourfended.

Lotus paint is shockingly bad. I covered my stone chips using a touch up pen but it got to the point where I had basically painted the front of the clam with a couple of touch up pens.

The respray should be a lot more durable (I hope)

No it wont. The paint is just soft as it has to flex a lot more on lightweight fibreglass clams.

one of the professional spray painters on seloc recently stated that he could do a front end repair spray that would be much more durable than the the OEM finish. he mentioned a couple of examples where customers only had a couple of chips, 2 years after his respray.

at the end of the day this is probably the best bet

Humm... I noticed four chips on mine today... only got it yesterday!

80 miles and there they are. In all honesty, I'm not stupidly concerned because it's going to happen, that's a basic fact. I'd rather keep £500 Armourfend cash to contribute to respray of bad bits in time - at least it won't look shrink-wrapped!

Read about some excellent touch up pens recently (not Halfrauds specials) so will get paint code, have a few imported and happily live with the inevitability of it all

Far More. It is 485 for the front clam (under the swage line) and sills.
