Dealer problems (no naming)

Has anyone here had any dealings with XXXXXXXXXXXXXX?
They are a Lotus main dealer, I bought my Elise 111S (3.5 year old) from them 3 weeks ago, after waiting a month before I could collect it as I wanted to wait until I was 25 before I insured it.
The day I collected I went straight to work then that night took it for a bit of a run at which point I noticed the heating/air con wasn’t working, non of the controls worked at all.
So I phoned them the next day to complain and try to get it sorted but they couldn't fit it in for over a week.
When I went to collect it, they said they needed to order some parts for it and do I have any sort of warranty!! at which point I pointed out it was faulty when I got it from them, and you cant advertise a car as having air con when non of the heating controls work.
I am still waiting for them to get the parts in and then I will have to wait even longer for them to book me in and fix it. As this is the car I use every day, I did point out to them its a bit dangerous not being able to clear my windscreen this time of year, the only method I have is to drive with the windows open which is bl**dy freezing this time of year!!
Just wondered if anyone else has used them at all? and how did you find them?

I used their Parts dep last week to order a new set of s2 wheel nuts and a replacement locking wheel nut key. In general the guy I dealt with was qucik and helpful if somewhat abrasive in attitude. Perhaps I wasn't explaining exactly what I wanted ordering properly but I was under the impression that a paying customer (who's polite as well and has travelled 100miles to do business) is always right and doesn't deserve condescending comments and patronising 'sighs'. I've worked in sales myself and would never put across the 'tone' he did to a customer.
The parts have arrived in good time so I suppose that's not too bad.

I've had no dealings with XXXXXX, but I would suggest that you are right in expecting the goods you purchased were fit for purpose. Perhaps you are just unfortunate to have communicated with people at the dealer who aren't particulary good at customer service. But if they keep treating you like a muppet try contacting trading standards in the dealers area. It may help them to focus on their responsibilities as a service provider.
I am sorry, but I hate bad service and I cant tolerate the tolerance of it!

They've been pretty good for me since I bought my 111R from them last year. As is often the case it depends on the individual you're dealing with. They're going to be busy at the moment with the new registrations, but I don't that's much of an excuse when you've just bought an expensive car. Have you tried talking to the sales guys as they might be able to move things along?

My Dad has dealt with XXXXXXXXX several times now and has never been fully satisfied with the service he has received. About 18 months ago he bought a used Elise 135 AND a used Saab 9-5 estate both on the same day. Both cars developed faults within the first month or so, and in both cases it took several weeks to actually get anything done. He has since changed both cars before which he had the Elise serviced, and he paid £900 for the service and a full set of brake pads, which he later found out to be well over the odds.

My best mate is on his second saab now and won't use them because of the poor service he recieved. Also he could have run a cerbera for a year on what they charged him for one of the services too. Although he lives about 5 miles away as the crow flies he prefers to take his car to the dealer in harrogate. Read into that what you will!!
