340R tyres on Elise?

Presumably not a good idea because of all the suspension changes recomended. But are there any cut slick style tyres which I can put on the Elise which don''t need any major suspension work? Any recommendations? Have a Scooby for when it rains so I''m really not interested in wet grip at all.

a friend of mine has a 2000 elise 111s with the 340r style yokohamas on. he's not done any suspension mods and hasn't experienced any problems. very, very grippy, and wet weather grip isn't actually as bad as you might expect either..

Chaps Are these tyres road legal ? and how long would they last in normal road conditions ? not to long I would think. But wouldn't mind a go !!!
