Hi, my mrs is having a bit of trouble reaching the pedals in my s160. Have tried a couple of big cushons behind her to bring her forward a bit, seems to work okay but not a good look with the roof off. Any idea where I can get a foam insert or somthing to get her a bit more comfortable. Cheers

You could get Lotus to retrim your seat with extra padding, although I guess that means you would be too close?

Do you mind if you tell us your G/F's height?

I only ask because I'm 5'2", and to be fair I have a long body and stumpy legs, but I've had no problems driving either an S1 or an S2.

At some times, especially in the S1, I had to 'shuffle forward' on the seat to fully depress the clutch, but that was rare, and not relevant to normal driving, just slow manoeuvering.

It is a weird driving position for most people who've come from everyday cars, it'll take a little getting used to.

Best of luck

She is about five foot but she always has to sit with the wheel on her chest for some reason. Have considered replacing mrs but I really like my house.

Mrs Taller
I once(ok more then often) had a little lady...then I bought a Siera Cosworth(long ago) but she could not reach te pedals I said to the salesman if you make a special seatpillow for the back that match the cars seat you got a deal on the car so he did it and my lady fit(not that she may drive a lothehe)
years later( I stil had that special seat thing in my garage) I gave it to an even more little girlfriend of me she is 1.52mtr but she uses it to sit higher in the car(clio)hehe she just could reach the pedals with her toe, only could not see that good over the dashhehe

Ha ha Davy, got there first!

Lotus make a bolster seat cover for shorties. About £100 from your dealer. Apparently if you swap the runners round you can get the seat to go further forward but having had a look at the runners the other day, I cant figure out how.

My girl friend is 5'1", and as mentioned before, you can get a booster seat from Lotus at £100.
But you can save money like me, by not getting it. By not buying a booster seat I haved the cost of those "minor bumps" in car parks, or having to pay for a new clutch every time she goes out in it.

I'm 5 foot and I know exactly what you're talking about (although I don't like to be too close to the steering wheel as I feel I lose an element of control).

We're currently looking at S1s to buy, so I've already investigated a solution to this potential problem. I found that by putting an ordinary pillow behind my back it pushes me forward just enough to be able to drive, but I still feel I need something else to "sit me up" a bit more.

So....Allon White's in Cranfield, nr Milton Keynes have said they can make a bespoke insert for me in any trim to match the seats.

Be glad I didn't have my say in designing the Lotus! My one gripe is that the pedals are at least a foot too close! I've got the seat as far back as it will go, and my legs are still bent up like they are when I drive a Micra or a Corsa!

I think that you can take the seat out and reverse the seat rails to make it closer, downside is that it won't go back as far.
