Hi all,

Just popped into my local Haellfords for a replacement wiper blade, only to find that they don't do such an item.

I've just had a read through the manual and it doesn't mention a size or brand, etc.

Is it really a dealer only item? Or are Hellfords just being dumb?

I had to get mine from the dealer....price I was quoted was £25 (!), but bartered it down to £10!! lol

I haven't looked on mine, but it may be possible to just replace the rubber....

PIAA Silicone blade from Demon Tweeks - 24" or 26" - better than the standard lotus one by far. It's amazing, I'll say no more as people will start taking the piss out out me and my enthusiasm over a damn wiper blade.

We'll go and sit in the corner and talk about wiper blades. I quite liked the idea of those new Bosch ones..

Seriously tho, thank you for the information.

Fitted in 2 mins and works brilliantly.

Enter 'summer10' in the promotion code box, and you'll get 10% off too...

Another vote for these, I have the 26" version I think, works brilliantly. Only issue is that the curve of the screen in the lower corners is greater than the blade can cope with, so the first couple of inches isnt cleared well, however it is not an area of the screen you use

I tried these on a standard S1 wiper arm and it didn't clean the centre at all - anyone got a link to a better arm that I can install?

I have the S2 (2005) wiper arm and it clears the whole windscreen except the very bottom corners. Some guys on SELOC who have S1's swapped to an S2 arm with one of these retro blades.

I just fitted a Retro-Fit Aero blade - 24" to my S2 and it fails to clear the centre of the screen. Has anyone else had this problem with a S2, has the S2 wiper arm changed at any point? The upper and lower sections clear perfectly, could I have seated the blade incorrectly?

Thanks Mark

You need to tweak the blade sometimes, they aren't all curved equally when they leave the factory it would seem. I had trouble with mine not doing the top of the screen, spent a few minutes the other day tweaking it, now cleans everywhere apart from a 1/2" patch in the middle of the screen - unfortunately only right in front of driver and passenger (fine in the center of the screen), but fortunately I look over the top of that patch anyway due to being tall smile

Have alook at the Sleoc wiki on this I've got the blade from the Renault and it works a treat. I tried the IPAA (or whatever blade) and it wasn't as good.

I had the Aero blade on my S2 and now have the Renault Espace blade on the S1 (with S2 wiper arm).

They both clean very well but I prefer the Espace one as the build in washers work brilliantly thumbup
