Spent a fantasic day at Bedford on the 22nd of Dec - nice and dry.

In the afternoon I got back in and noticed that the brakes were juddering - when they warmed up it stopped - when I cameinand went out again this happened again.

Have I warped a disk ?

If so is this covered by warranty - my car is a 1.5 year old exige ??

Also there was a nice Exige S1 there being driven well - until the last 30 mins when it was binned in the barrier at the begining of the straight - looked bad - hope whoever it was the damage to the car or you wasn't too bad....

Did you do something daft like using the hand brake while the breaks were still hot from the track? Unfortunately, I very much doubt that any of the consumables of the braking system are covered by the warranty.

Bedford is very safe. Stacks of run-off all over except for at the beginning of the main straight on the GT circuit.(If you look in Evo mag its the straight just after the bit they call the 'bank complex' - there's a bloody great bank along the side of straight to stop noise.
The Exige found one of the very few places at Bedford where you can damage the car. Incidently I only noticed the barrier/tyre wall/bank after edntering the straight a little (and only a little) sideways for the umpteenth time - far to busy to worry about little things like that on your first TD.
If you're going with LOT then its a good idea to book a couple of training sessions, an early one will help. And take plenty of warm clothing if you're going soon - its bloody freezing up there.

its quite hard to wapr a disk - maybe you have some pad transfer ...unfortunately, this is nearly as bad, short of skimming the discs not much will cure it. You could try taking it out and giving them some stick and seeing if it clears.

they are not covered under warranty as they are a consumable part im afraid ...if you are going to do a lot of trackdays then its worth fitting better discs n pads

Thanks all.

I was careful not to use the handbrake and indeed I let the thing cool down for at least half a lap before coming in.

Good to hear it's difficult to warp a disk - has anyone actually done this ??

The pads are still the OEM ones - 3K miles and only 2 track days and they are down to a couple of mm visisble - when do they need changing ??

Also, I checked my mileage during the day - I did 180 miles on track at 10.5 mpg.

The begining of the straight is about the only place you could bin the car at bedford - GT circuit. Just take it a lttle easy comming onto the straight.....a caterham also hit the barrier here that day.
