Happy new year to all for starters !

Well my car is going into the bodyshop on the 10th of Jan for new clams and full respray. They are also going to get a company in to re-apply the stripes. However I am thinking about having a change and need some advice. Currently have 2 big silver stripes and 3 little white stripes. (1 in the center and the other 2 at the outsides of the silver stripes.

Question is will the S2 exige bio-ethanol stripe scheme work on an S1?????? Obviously as my car is black I reckon this could look good, just not sure..??

Urgh, stripes on cars? What a ridiculous idea, it'll never work. Cheap, tacky and horrid. (See profile wink )

On a black base, virtually anything will work. Why not let your imagination run riot? Basically any combo that Dulux can think up!!

That little thumbs up is just a feeble attempt to distract discerning readers from the fact that you are stripeless

I think it'll look odd, given the colour of the interior and the roof. Less is more.

Don't know what the interior colours are, from the profile I'm guessing red and black?

If so, a fairly bright yellow and orange could work?

In my opinion, a single thick stripe works best with the more rounded S1, and the twin stripes are better on the S2.

Seats are completely black as I have the motorsport jobbies. It has a full red carpet kit and the red roof. It also got red brake calipers. I did once put dark red on the car but it clashed with the roof and looked terrible. I have been playing around on photoshop and a silver and a yellow stripe seems to look good.

Car looks too naked without stripes, they are a must !

Hi Oly, happy new year and all that!!

Why don't you make an old gal happy and get orange with skinny silver ones on the edges smile Actually it might make me quite jealous!

I miss having a lary car - I might put big purple spots on mine...hmm then again maybe not! Anyone got a tin of chrome orange paint going spare?!!

I think whatever colour you get (unless you stick to the monochrome), you need to dump the red roof and get a black one!

See you soon
Jules

White stripes on black ... Yellow is pushing it and the bio-ethanol design is very nice on the S2, but whether it would transfer well to the S1, I'm not so sure. Perhaps someone can Photoshop the bio-ethanol stripes on an image of your car.

Personally I would love either the red or blue Elise S2 Sports Racer for a car with stripes ... I also found someone who had the Sports Racer stripes professionally mocked up, sized and stuck on a Calypso Red S1 with hardtop - Looked fantastic!!! Unfortunately it sold within a couple of hours of being advertised frown I would've made the 450-500mile round trip for that.

hmmmmmm,,

what about the new baby blue exige racer style using one big fat stripes in the center with 2 thin stripes at the sides. Plus the 2 stripes on the side pods. Could look good on the S1, Where's my photoshop again......

That might be quite nice - Time to crack out PS though! smile

By the way Piooly, I almost bought the Sport 160 seats you were selling on eBay a couple of months back ... Was rather gutted, as I put in a bid and attempted to snipe, beating the winning bidder by £6! However eBay only accepted a bid of £10 more than his price frown Bah!

Ahhh, sorry to hear that, if I had more they would be yours. Get the motorsport seat, its amazing !! the sheer level of support is incrediable and unbelieveably comfortable. I couldnt believe how much effort I was using to stay in my seat. Its like I am bolted to the car now, One of the best mods I have ever done.
