Got myself an S1 for under 5K in the summer, managed to get it running MOT new S2 suspension. Before I go for the engine mods I need to sort out the interior. The seats are very tired as is the rest of the interior. Also the wife thinks the original seats are very hard.

I wondered if anyone has upgraded or just had them refurbed. I also have the usual leaking roof which I am prepared the live with unless anyone has any tips. I was going to replace with a hard top, but been told they leak as well.....

Also I know I said that I was going to look at the engine latter need to work out what I should do. Replace or can I use the existing standard engine. It has done 100k but has a full service history and seems strong

There are numerous options with the seats. Cheapet options to more comfort would be to try and buy some used 111S seats (more padding), or have Corbeau refurb yours to Sport 135 spec.

Re: the engine, if its going well, I'd keep it in there until it goes pop. Then you have loads of options for tuning the K if you want to. See www.dvapower.com for info

I've just had mine refurbished by the lotus trim shop as they were getting a bit tatty & uncomfortable. They are now probax & look much better than before & even have the elise logo stiched into the headrest. In short they look the nuts & feel so much better.

The downside was it took them nearly 2 months to do (although did have loan seats). Cost 710 all in but well worth it. Probax is much better.

I've just changed mine to Sport 160 seats - much more comfortable, and much nicer looking as well smile

I put newly trimmed 111s seats, sill covers and matching steering wheel in mine. I paid about £500 from an ad on here and they transformed the interior of the car (looks almost new).
