Unreasonable and stupid people

Those of you who know me will have heard the stories of my evil neighbour. When I get on the subject and tell people some of the things she has done, people actually dont believe me. They dont believe that anyone could be that blatantly nasty / stupid / cretinous.
The latest;
I ordered some Pagids and an anti squeal kit from Eliseparts. These guys are great, the prices are good, they always have the kit in stock and if thee is a problem they bend over backwards to solve it.
The package was delivered last Friday morning. I heard the doorbell and by the time I was out of the shower, all I saw was a delivery guy disappearing. I thought nothing of it, I supposed that if it was for me there would be a card through the door. Saturday afternoon, I got concerned about the lack of delivery and chased the delivery. The delivery was received by "Mrs Moron" (not real name but very close). The neighbour from hell, in fact hell probably turned her away for being un neccasary...
I went and rang the door bell. Apparently she returned it to the depot "because she didnt want to be accused of theft" (Not the first time). I was my usual subtle self and asked "if she was going to be a sh!thead, why did she accept the delivery?" and went before she could answer. Didnt need an answer, just the look on her face was enough.
So I contact Eliseparts who are mystified. Apparently the package has not been returned. I have gone down to the depot and the local post office and I have been assured that it has not been returned.
I passed Mrs Morons number to the guys at Eliseparts who call her and ask her where the package is. Moron assured them it is returned and she has a receipt to prove it. She then has a go at them and says she will pass a copy of the receipt to me and settle the matter.
That was 3 hours ago! No receipt. I have only one conclusion, the crazy moron has stolen a set of elise brake pads!
The guys at Eliseparts have been really good about this but acknowledge that they have been pulled into a neighbourly dispute, they have offered to send me out replacement parts at no cost but refuse to sent it to my house because of the risk of interception my the Moron. I cant blame them and they have acted really well through this whole drama but I now have to get parts delivered to my brothers house.
So in conclusion - Thumbs up to Eliseparts, as usual the service is efficient and friendly (everything I expect from a part of the Lotus community) They are swallowing the cost and will no doubt have to get the police involved.

Sounds like an accurate synopsis of the situationAre you really sure about this neighbour? Are they completely loony tune mad or have you done something they feel is unreasonable and they are responding appropriately? 3 hours isn't a long time to give her.
BTW: I know how unreasonable people can be. I have a very serious issue with two local residents which is going to end up the the high court late next year if not resolved before hand.

Have you tactfully asked that she has another look in her house, before you get the police to chase up the depot for stealing your pads? (Blame the depot, hopefully that won't put her back up and give her an easy way out.)
If stuff like this keeps on happening you need to put a stop to it. I am a "guns blazing" kinda guy, so I'd ignore time/cost and follow the matter to the bitter end to make sure she knows she can't play games.

It must be the responsibility of the delivery company to deliver to you and not to a neighbour. If they have failed then then should issue a full refund (although I guess that it one for Eliseparts to chase up)

Sorry to hear about this. My girlfriends neighbours are all dicks, bar the lad living above her.

AIUI the problem does indeed lie with the courier. Your contract is with Eliseparts, and theirs in turn is with the courier. The only thing that you can do is talk to Eliseparts, which you obviously have and they have been great, and they in turn must chase the courier. If they leave it with "a neighbour" or "behind a plant" or "in a safe place" then it is no good. The parcel is not deemed "delivered" until it is either handed to the householder in person or posted through the letterbox into the property. If those options are not available then they should leave a card and return it to the depot for later re-delivery or collection.
I have similar problems with deliveries to home where items are often just chucked over the back gate or tucked under the cover on the Elise. I once had a DVD player left with "a neighbour" - across the road and several doors away - because the driver happened to spot them and asked if they could take it.

On a kind of different note then , is just me who is grateful to couriors who take the time to leave a parcel with neighbours or finds somewhere to hide it rather than taking it away to rearrange delivery for yet another day when everybodys at work ,(why dont courior companys work nights ) when they have my nice new toy , whatever that i want to play with straight away ?
The current position is that Eliseparts have bent over backwards in order to help me. They are cutting the crap and getting straight on with getting me the product and while they try and recover the product, I dont have to worry and I will have a fresh delivery (to my brothers) so I will have brakes.
I have given Eliseparts the number of Mrs Moron who have agreed with her that if she does not provide me with the reciept then they will involve the police.
Though I would love to involve the police, the package did not get to me, so wasnt mine, so I cant report the thieving, inbred, fat, waste of oxygen to the police.
