Bit of a bizarre situation, noticed yesterday when i got to work my work bag that i chuck in the passenger footwell was a bit damp.
had a look (more like a feel in the dark) yesterday when i got home and the passenger footwell was failry damp, but when i got in the car yesterday the passenger seat was dry as was the inside of the door / window and the passenger sill.
had a better look / feel about in the work car park earlier.
passenger footwell still a bit damp, the carpet under the sill (between the sill and the floor) feels dry. I maanged to put my hand down the back of the passenger seat and the little bit i can feel feels a bit wet, but the carpet i can feel under the front of the passenger seat feels dry, however last night the foot stand (between the seat and the carpet) felt a bit damp.
I closed the passenger door and there looks like a small gap between the top of the window and the roof rubber at the back, which (sort of) explains the wet carpet behind the passenger seat.
I'm none the wiser how the footwell carpet could get so wet, especially as I park on a slope with the front elevated. I had a feel on the passenger foot rest and behind it and that felt dry.
It's off for it's first service tomorrow so will get them to fix the window gap but any ideas how the footwell could get so wet?

(phew - bit of a marathon post, sorry)

Did you by any chance try the windscreen washers before noticing the damp footwell?
It is possible for the washer feed tube to become detached, you press the wash and fluid squirts into the footwells. When this happened to me, the washer fluid was deposited over my foot in the drivers side footwell.
Easy to fix, remove the capture panels and push the feed pipe back in place.
If it's not that, then I haven't got a clue.
