Discussion
as a complete mechanical numpty is it easy to remove the seats?
if i rock hard on the drivers side there seems to be some movement, also I would like to give it a real good clean etc ( and also I'm missing the remote for the dvd player which I think may be lodged somewhere, cheers guys

This is quite easy (imo!) to do on an S2. I did it last summer when my car had 4 inches of water in it after the floods. Just use the allen keys. As a guide it took two of us about 1 hour to take them out, clean underneath and replace.

i agree it 'should' be easy but i just can't get at the passenger screws as the side bolsters stick out too far... so i gave up Si

Cut down an allen key (the short side needs to be around half the original lenght) and you can then use this key on the front passenger bolt closest to the door. The other three are easily accessible with a socket allen key and long extensions. Takes only a few minutes then to remove and replace the seats.

DAFL although I sort of bodged together some bits and bobs from assorted socket sets. First time I did it it took hours, easy job now.HTH

) Allen Keys from Machine Mart for a few quid and you should be fine to undo all the bolts, just make sure you have protected the sides of the chasis tub as its easy to scratch it with the seat runners as you move and lift out the seats.
