Flexi pipe replacement
Discussion
Hi all, I've been working on replacing the flexy part of the exhaust on my S1 today. I've got the old one off (along with a lot of swearing and cuts in my hands), but have not put the new one on yet.
I bought the SS pipe with fitting kit from EliseParts but the fitting kit does not include the studs for the manifold - a couple of mine came out and are not in a condition I would want to put back on. So, does anyone know where I can get some replacements?
Another, related question - the heatshield behind the exhaust, I could barely touch it without some of the silver stuff flaking off (then without thinking started the car up to move it back into the garage, which knocked a bit more off). How important is it for the layer of silver foil to be complete, and can I repair it/where can I get another shield? No idea how to get it in or out of where it is without dismantling half the car but thats for another day
Advice appreciated

The studs shouldn't have come out, so wouldn't really be part of a fitting kit. Best thing is to take those that are out to a local nuts and bolts type place - obvious I guess , but I don't know what thread they are to be able to order online.
Is the heat shiled a fibre type thing ? If so, this is what was fitted to mine and its crap. I say was as there was little of it left when I bought the car and there is a hole burnt in the bulkhead heat reflective lining - so yeah, don't run without it for long. I think some cars had a stainless steel shield fitted, which sounds better to be. You could always make your own like in this Seloc link.
