Drove one one saturday and have to say it was fantastic, very linear delivery but bags of power low down more like instant turbo diesel engine response and then builds rapidly higher up.
Very quite but with an audible supercharger whine low down, loverly! respected fact car had only few hundred miles on it though enough to realise this was a very impressive car indeed. Car felt very planted on front end, brakes were superb I loved it.
Interior was very nice and rattle, squeak free.
This car is going to be a huge hit for lotus, I want one and may just do that! going to get another drive soon.
impressed a lot

Russ, 36k only gets you metallic paint and touring pack!!!
no air-con think that is another 1k.
Ditto with depreciation its the only thing holding me back on ordering how much can you lose in 1 year?
May be best for second market to come in to play but they are going to be scarce for a while.
Never going to make money on car.

I drove the Sc this week and compared to the 111r imo its miles better to drive and a fair bit quicker in road use .It feels more like a beefed-up S with its power delivery than a 111r.I think the Sc finally will convince me to buy a Lotus(Elise sc) however as someone else mentioned residuals dont look particulary good on 111r's or exige s which appear to lose about 25% in their first year..have they lost a fair bit because of the arrival of the Sc or or is the Sc going to suffer the same?A difficult one to answer i realise however i dont know that much about Lotus residuals etc.

My g/f and I had a test drive of the SC on yesterday. It was either that of wandering around the Garden Centre. In a way I was trying to be a hard-to-please potential customer since I really like my 111R and most of the time I quite enjoy the need to keep the revs up to "make progress". However in the two and a bit years I have had the car I think my g/f can count the number of times she has got up to the cam-change point on the 111R on the fingers of one hand.
She came back from the test drive beaming with a broad grin and saying that it felt so much easier to drive and make it go fast. My turn was next and I have to say it really is a different experience to the 111R. The power just seemed to be available on tap whenever it was needed and it really did subjectively feel faster. I can appreciate some folks concerns about the car getting lardy tho. I certainly aint a hardcore racer but the idea of a cup holder in any lotus seems perverse. On the other hand it still seemed a nice sporty place to be sitting and felt well screwed (or should that be glued) together. It beats me tho why Lotus fit a standard exhaust to demo cars, it makes them sound soooo tame.
I had mentally been prepared to finish the day by acknowledging it was a good car but then kill 2 birds with one stone and keep the 111R plus go ahead with having the ECU reflash done to benefit SWMBO. In the end I heard myself agreeing to go back tomorrow for another drive and, all-being-well, with the intent of specing one with the Performance Pack and a decently LOUD exhaust.
Would have been cheaper had I agreed to go to the Garden Centre in the first place!!

I know what you mean, but there are a few good reasons:1. Helps sell it to those who think they can't use it day-to-day
2. Keeps the locals happy
3. Means the dealer can sell a sports exhaust as well as the car
