Not a single accident in 9 years of driving. A few months of Elise ownership and someone in an E reg Nissan Micra decides to reverse over me at a roundabout.

Got to get two quotes for the insurance company. I would prefer Bell & Colvill to do the work. Any other recommendations for another quote in the Twickenham area?

Always sorry to hear about this. It's all too common unfortunately. It has happened to me twice now. "I didn't see you", they say. Well obviously.

Recommend Specialised Paintwork, off M4 Junction 12.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me. Some moron in a Taxi reversed without looking and cracked my indicator. few scuffs, not as bad as yours. Luckily the idiot in the taxi did not take my details so I just walked away from it. No way to win this one without a big court battle and still if you dont have any witnesses (apart from the reliable, seniour member of the comunity sat in the passenger seat) it will come down to your word against hers. To be honest - reversing at a roundabout sounds like a fit up. The next thing will be whiplash.

idea
I still have to get a truck load of manure delivered through the taxi drivers back window...

Sorry to hear that. I was very lucky that the person that tried to reverse across the front of my Westfield owned up to the fact that she didn't see me in her mirrors, and didn't try and pull a fast one... but I was really worried that someone would convince her that it was my fault.

Hope you get this sorted!

It's funny how the story changes. Had a chat with hubby/boyfriend later maybe.

You really need a witness or you could be stuffed unfortunately.

Edit - sorry just realised this is the Elise section and I have just jumped in with a post. I have just added the area to my preferences because an Elise is on my list for possible next car.

Similar damage to my lucy, Parked on road outside restaraunt, never noticed when I 1st got in, but later that day identical damage to front clam, fudding touch parkers!

Just got quote from perfect paint MK, £ 805.00 + VAT, so onto the insurance it goes.

I've similar damage to both ends of my Elise, as it's parked on the street. If i get it fixed it'll only happen again. now I don't worry about further parking damage, so It has benefits.

How much damage was there to her car? If you'd run in to her, I'd expect there to be quite a bit, but if she's reversed in to you there wouldn't be as much damage to her car - Best bet would be to talk to Europa Consultants straight away if it looks like it's going to be a fight, see what they have to say.

Just filled out the report form for the insurers and have sent it to them. Thanks for the heads up on Europa, looking at their site now.

Be careful - Europa are only useful if the 3rd party accepts liability, if they dont you will have to pay Europas costs. If there is no doubt that the 3rd party acepts liability then go ahead and use them

As a thought, is there CCTV covering the roundabout at all?

ok, thanks Gooby. Have emailed Europa and will wait to hear back. I don't mind paying the costs if they are not too outrageous and there is a good chance of 'winning'. It's the principal of the whole thing. I can't believe she's sitting there thinking to herself that it's ok to shaft me after her mistake (which was an accident, I understand that, which is why we have insurance!!!!!).

I wish frown I went back there this afternoon to check. There is CCTV in the sainsbury's car park, which is where we both pulled in to exchange details. I'm sure that would have captured me ranting and raving and her standing there in a daze. It should have captured the fact that we never even looked at her car, she was only concerned with the damage to mine and asking 'how much would it cost to do it privately'. I made that mistake once before and ended up getting a shoddy job on my Mini, so I thought never again! Looks like I'll now how to carry a video camera in the car in the future and record every mile I drive. What a shit.

I've considered it before, having one on a loop to record the last 20 minutes or so.
