I doubt you'll find many S1 111S examples with only 2,000 miles on the clock ... At best you may find a 8-12K mile car, although you'll be paying a premium and probably more than £10K too! Honestly, mileage is nothing on these cars - There are several into the hundreds of thousands. As long as you choose a car that has been well looked after and has records of servicing and maintenance, then potential problems should be reduced. I wouldn't be too keen on a 8-12 year old car that has sat around most of it's life!

I think Gemini may have been referring to the year of the car!

I agree that a car sat around has its faults

It is the year 99 or 2000 wink

mate, keep on searching. Took me a long time to find the right elise, and to do so in the end I had to up the budget by 35% and buy from a dealer rather than private. It was worth the wait smile

Pretty much my experience, and whilst the premium I (knowingly) paid was substantial, I would not now go back. Keep looking.

What about this one http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/332442.htm

OK a bit more than your budget but they have an ad saying wanted S2000s so there's a deal to be done there, also a yellow one in Hinckley.

That orange one has been advertised since I started looking in September. As far as I can remember, it was the same price then as well. Looks good but I think its quite over priced. For what its worth, I paid £8,000 in Novemeber for a 99V 111s with 60k on the clock, very good condition and some good mods (larini etc..).

I paid £10K for a virtually untouched 111s on a V plate in July of last year.
Came with factory hard top too. Still had original P Zeros on the front and only £17K on the clock.

I'd been looking for ages and then eventually found one on Autotrader that was about 3 miles from my house. The ad was so understated I thought it would be a right turkey. Had it inspected and given the all clear by local Lostu specialist and snapped it up.
I genuinely believe the guy who had it before me hadn't a clue what he had to be honest.

Best advice... just keep looking and don't be afraid to hunt in unusual places.

P.S.
When you do get one. Get a Larini Club Sport fitted ASAP. It changes the car dramatically.
(Especially for pedestrians)

seen both the yellow and the orange adds
colours are not for me!

Will B and I have been chatting on the phone and the two cars he has seem good cars - perhaps juts too far for me to travel for the price of the car.
No bargain there to be had

Ill look again next year

Its definitley the Honda for me this year
