I became a grandfather on Monday morning, and now my son says it's time to give up the Elise and pass it on to him. He thinks I should be wearing slippers and babysitting while he drive my car.
DREAM ON DUDE! Get your own.

Well, now you are a grandad, they`ll more than likely put you in "a home" soon as you will probably start urinating yourself and buying bad cardigans. So it may well be time to.........................
No wait, you were doing that a long time ago, so no, I say keep it and tell him to get his own!biggrin

As said in the text msg, congrats mate, you`ll make a great Grandad, time to get the werthers originals out!hehe

My father-in-law (at the age of 65) is currently hacking it about in the South of France in a TVR, a 911 and a 360 so screw anyone who says "age" is a barrier. Get on and show these "youngsters" what it's really about.

Personally, if I'm unable to get into an Elise when I'm a grandfather (maybe another 15 years, so 50 odd), I'll shoot myself!

shout Oi, cheeky! I'm fifty and have absolutely no problem getting in and out of my Elise (and its not one of the girly new type ones eithertongue out)
I've been thinking about taking my Father in law for a track day in my Elise for his birthday this year. He can do the driving - at 73!!
When he was 70 he got an RS4!!

I should have made it clear, she is my daughter's baby, he is just trying to take advantage of me in my state of euphoria.

Met him? Yes and shared a room with him, Stelvio trip 2004.
I am trying to emulate him, my car is nearly as stone chipped as his was then.

Congrats Phil, you're obviously and rightly very proud smile

So, do you have a preference over whether to be known as Grandad, Gramps, Grandpa, Dumpy, Bampy..?
